Liam warms up before the drum circle
Saturday brought a new experience for me as I traveled to Brooklyn to facilitate a drum circle for kids and families. The Borough of Brooklyn is full of cool neighborhoods, and I went right to what I believe to be the coolest neighborhood of them all… Williamsburg. The drum circle was co-hosted by Bill Harvey and Path To Rhythm, and was held at William Harvey Studio, The Undisclosed Location.
Parents and children came out to drum together and explore group rhythm making. There was 25 participants of all ages that drummed together for over an hour. The group was full of energetic young drummers (even a two year old!) that provided inspiration and smiles. I provided light facilitation, and I added a few breaks in the group improvisational playing by leading a few structured rhythmic activities and games.
I intend to return to Brooklyn soon to continue this drumming circle and reconnect with all of the drumming families that shared their rhythm on this great day in Williamsburg!
A special thanks to Bill and his family for all of their help with this event.

It looks like a very cool space to have a drum circle, and to spread the joy of Path to Rhythm to Brooklyn!
The drum circle looks really great. Including the HAPI drum will add a lot
of variety to future drum circles.
Adam, it’s great to see what you have been doing with Path to Rhythm. It appears to be a huge success and the website looks great! It’s great to read all the positive stories about the success of the drum circle…. Really impressive
